01

Find when the clock starts

The return period may begin on the order date, shipment date, delivery date, activation date, or another event. Save the policy that applied when you ordered.

02

Check condition and category exclusions

Opened electronics, software, hygiene products, personalized goods, clearance items, gift cards, downloadable products, and marketplace purchases may have separate rules.

  • Original packaging and accessories
  • Serial-number or activation restrictions
  • Final-sale and clearance exclusions
  • Marketplace seller versus platform responsibility
03

Calculate the cost of returning

Return shipping, insurance, pickup charges, and restocking fees can materially change the risk of buying. Large or heavy items need extra attention.

04

Use a payment method with appropriate records

Save the order confirmation, product listing, policy, delivery evidence, and communication. A payment dispute is not a substitute for following the merchant’s legitimate return process.
